Sara Bencini, designer of fine jewelry, was born in Florence to a family of painters and art historians. She attended ‘Firenze 1′, the artistic school and following this she achieved a diploma at the Academy of the Beautiful Arts, Florence.
In 1994 Sara left Florence for Paris, here she gained a Masters in the specialisation of technical decoration.
From this grew an interest for the fine arts, from goldsmith to working on precious stones.
She begins to follow seminars on gemmology and gradually becomes an expert at reproducing jewelry for film sets and theatres. Her preferred technique is investment casting, which was loved and used by Benedetto Cellini.
Throughout the years she developed parnterships, and collaborated with designers such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, and many more. earning recognition and publication in popular trade magazines.
She designs pieces that are beautiful to see and to wear, bringing to life a craft that breathes an international and contemporary air yet still firmly rooted in the history of the Renaissance.
Sara Bencini lives and works in Florence in the Oltrarno area.
