Duccio Conti Caponi
Duccio Conti was born in Florence in 1983. Raised in a family where culture, art, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship blended, as a teenager he became interested in the decorative arts, architecture and painting. Since young age he collaborated in the drafting of the catalogues for his grandfather’s exhibitions, the painter Dino Caponi.
He studied at the Faculty of architecture in Florence, working, during this period, at the family firm Casa Wolf, a furniture and antiques shop of classic, late 1800s – early 1900s, taste. Since then he has been dealing with the design of furniture, following the creation of residential and commercial interiors. Periodically he collaborates in the preparation of exhibitions and parades for the home textiles company Loretta Caponi.
In 2013 he moved to London where, in 2015, he completed a specialization course in interior design at the renowned KLC School of Design.
Currently he is involved in planning and interior design, from concept’s boards to the spatial distribution of each house’s room, working between London and Florence; at the same time he’s taking care of his design’s products ranging from furniture to lighting elements.
In his style the research of precious and refined materials merges with an artistic, geometric, sculptural twist, with references to the early 1900s design, creating atmospheres that draws not only from woods and marbles grain’s nature, but also from the craftsmen’s manufacturing process preciousness and cured joints and polishing’s details. The refined fabrics and the unique textiles design enriches and emphasizes this modern but, at the same time, traditional design.
