Born in England just south of London he was brought up traveling as his father was in the military. Moved back too London after school and attended Chelsea school of art,
As London in all things became too contemporary he moved to Italy, to study in Florence, under Charles H Cecil in one of the only remaining classical ateliers in the World. It was here he learnt the sight-size method, a portrait technique used extensively by John Singer Sargent and his contemporaries,
He trained there for three years acquiring these rare skills from his master, this method changed his perception of the design and aesthetic of a painting as it gave birth to the idea of finding form through shadow.
On a referral from C.H.Cecil he changed studio´s to Studio Della Statua, a sculpture program initiated in Florence incorporating this classical way of seeing, with the French modeling technique.
Told that working in 3 dimensions would benefit his painting and Studies of anatomy he took to his new master Jason Arkles developing his love and aptness for sculpture.
